Publication Date: June 16, 2016

Authors: Kylie Musolf

Each month, a group of 12 students in Portland, Oregon — ranging from elementary to high school-aged — meet to learn about and practice philanthropy. This case study considers Social Venture Partners Youth (SVPY), established in 2014 as a branch of Social Venture Partners Portland, which has learned to use empathy as an entry point to smart philanthropy.
