5 Ways to Involve Youth in Philanthropy

Publication Date: May 6, 2015

Authors: Nikki Hilgert

Today’s young people come to philanthropy via many paths-not only by way of their families’ charitable giving, but also through school and community. This article shares the experiences of two young philanthropists. Sarah Saltzman is a teen involved in Youth Philanthropy Connect (a project of the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation) and Luke Sturtz is a teen involved in the Dekko Foundation. They participated in Exponent Philanthropy’s 2015 webinar “How to Engage Youth in Philanthropy in Meaningful, Fun Ways,” and this article summarizes that conversation.
